Maple Walnut Brownies

1/2 cup brown sugar             1/2 cup whole wheat flour       1 tsp baking powder             

2/3 cup maple syrup              2/3 cup flour                        1 tsp vanilla                                

1/2 cup butter                       1/4 tsp salt                           1 egg                            1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 8”  square baking pan. In sauce pan, melt butter, remove from heat & whisk in brown sugar & maple syrup. Set aside to cool. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl. After butter mixture has cooled, whisk in egg & vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Add walnuts & stir. Pour batter in pan & bake for 35-42 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Maple Sour Cream Muffins

3/4 cup white whole wheat flour          1/2  tsp salt                                     1 egg                    
1 cup cake flour                                3/4 cup maple syrup                        1/2 cp chopped pecans                    
2 Tsp baking powder                          1/2 cup butter 
1 tsp baking soda                              1 cup sour cream

Pre heat oven to 400 o. Grease a 16 cavity standard muffin pan. Stir together all dry ingredients and set aside. In another bowl, cream butter. Add maple syrup, sour cream & egg. Stir in nuts. Add the dry ingredients & stir until just blended. Spoon batter in pan about 2/3 full. Bake 15-17 minutes. Cool & remove from pan.

Maple Chocolate Chip Brownies

1 cup margarine                     3 cups flour                         1 tsp salt

1 egg                                    ½ cup white sugar                1 tsp baking powder

1 cup maple syrup                 ½ cup milk                           1 12 oz. Bag chocolate chips

Cream margarine, egg, maple syrup & sugar. Sift all dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Mix in chocolate chips. Spread in greased 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 325o for 40-45 minutes. Cool & cut.
